Over the years, enterprises invested enormous amount of money to
restructure the organization, improve the operation efficiency,
raise the level of service quality and of course, try to reduce
operating expenses. In reality, more headcounts have been added
and more workloads have been imposed so as to solve the above problems.
For example, more staff were recruited to improve the coordination
of intra- or inter-departmental activities and workloads on collecting
service indicators, etc. Nonetheless, inaccuracy, incompleteness
and delay cannot be prevented when human intervention is involved.
In the areas of operation flow and document handling, today, over
90% of the enterprises are still processing and passing around hardcopy
documents, sending and receiving piles of documents within the department
or from another department within the building or a building which
is several miles away. The handling of hardcopy documents implies
"delay" and while coordinating intra- or inter-department
activities means another layer of delay.
ecWIS helps remove the enterprises' disconnects, and unloading
their burden from handling hardcopy documents. It changes the ways
of operating the enterprises, and significantly improves the operation
efficiency, not to mention about cost savings, accuracy, effective
management, etc.
By integrating ecWIS, a multi-lingual workflow and imaging solution
with your application systems, we further expand the scope of business
operation automation and controls including exception handling.
For example, when processing a credit card application request,
the processing staff scans the application form together with the
associated documents through the standard scanner that supports
either TWAIN and ISIS standards. Utilizing OCR technology, ecWIS
will capture relevant data from the images and pass the data directly
to the legacy systems for processing. ecWIS supports auto-indexing
feature which automatically reads the bar codes or pre-printed reference
numbers on the documents and indexes the documents by batch. ecWIS
supports more than 20 types of image formats such as TIFF, JPG,
BMP, GIF, etc. Using the image, the processing staff can check for
discrepancies, completeness, and the accuracy of the data against
the hardcopy documents before sending the data for processing. There
are also a variety of tools that one can use to manipulate and enhance
the images such as stamps, notepads, highlights, shapes, voice recorder
and text boxes etc. ecWIS supports more than 25 types of stamps
such as "Assigned", "Approved", "Important",
etc. With ecWIS, everything is well managed, efficient and effective.
